I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately. I never moved away from home before marrying Kyle. Why do I say this, well because I feel as though I've never taken the alone time to figure out what makes me wake up in the morning excited for my day. This is not for lack of time, or blaming anyone but me. I have always known a few of things...i love my family and they love me, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, my life is constantly guided by a higher power, God, I am married to the love of my life and we have the most beautiful child. He has sent me many people that have enriched and made my life feel full...Kyle, Boston, my parents, siblings, family, friends, the list goes on on...But, when I spend time alone do I know who I am and what I enjoy?
So... I know this sounds much more serious than it is, but I am serious about living my fullest life, that helps me and directly affects the lives of those I love. This is the main reason I feel our family, specifically me, was given the opportunity to move to San Diego. I needed this time to make my life rich and full on my own. Lucky for me I still have support from my family back home and most importantly Kyle & Bos.
I have a feeling this will be a forever project, discovering who I am. With each new phase, challenge, joy that comes into my life I will have to change and adapt. However, there will be core values and characteristics that identify me and make me, Jamie Joyce. What I've found so far...
What makes me happy...
- my hubs. aka. my hero, my therapist, my best friend. the love of my eternal life.
- my mom. this lady holds a very special part of my heart.
- my dad. also my hero.
- boston. the most absolute joy and love any human could feel toward someone I feel for this boy. how humbled i am to be his mom, that someone so special got to come to me.
- my sibs. all so different, but so much love between us. my best friends
- a clean house. turn up the music and work.
- spirituality. when i am in a good place with Heavenly Father, everything in my life is good.
- singing. for real and for fun. good music is good for the soul
- drives with no radio. driving is a good time to be quiet and think
- trying new things. thanks kyle for helping me with this one. its makes it fun to meet new people and learn things from them as well
- my planner. not much to write in it, but it makes me feel important
- my friends. new and old. all of mine have been sent to me for very specific and special reasons and times.
- get togethers. i got this from my mom. i love hosting and attending parties, the memories created are priceless
- nicholas sparks books. he gets my reading intellectuality
- the sun. also from my mom, we worship sun tans.
- reality t.v.. not ashamed at all
- drinks. dr.pepper in a styrofoam cup, ice, and a straw. nuff said.
Thanks for hanging in there everyone! The list goes on and on, that's the beauty of it...I am blogging for me with this post. My life is good, my life is great, for all the new memories to come I cannot wait. A little soul searching never hurt anyone.

You are the Best! Love you.
ReplyDeleteLove this post!
ReplyDeleteI like it. :) And I like that kyle commented too :) Excited to see you in a bit!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part was the planner. I laughed! You are a good woman and have known who you are for a real long time! Have a good one!
ReplyDeletelove this! i think a lot of people feel like girls who get married young and start having children don't "know" themselves yet, but all of these things become a part of who you are.
ReplyDeleteyou're right...you'll always be changing because the world, your family dynamics, and just little things are always changing. i don't think life would be very exciting if we all stayed the same all the time. as long as we are progressing and getting better, it's a good thing!
p.s., you look gorgeous in that picture!
