Do not put dish soap in the dishwasher.....
Yes, we are having this conversation...I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I just got done cleaning up a dishwasher load of bubbles!
For some reason my self doesn't trust the one inch square package does it all for dishwasher soap. So I took it upon myself to add a little dish soap in the prewashing section!
Little did I know what consequences this would bring! Haha. Why do I have to be such an airhead sometimes. It reminded me of the time where I ironed my shirt while it was on! Come on, the sleeves were wrinkled. It sounded like a good plan at the time. Yes, my sleeves looked a lot better, but the scabby burns on each of my arms didn't help so much!
Anyway, you're probably wondering what happened when I found the bubbles seeping out of our dishwasher...Well, I had just finished wiping down the counters (this counter perfectionism comes from my mother and grandmother) when I hear little Boston switch from yelling "mama" at the top of his lungs to "bub-bows" in ajubilant voice. I'm glad it was fun for one of us.
I hurried and called Kyle to taddle on the dishwasher. I soon realized I really needed to hang up and grab the load of towels I just washed and soak up this water before Boston was covered! Another reason being I realized I had caused this with the dishsoap, and needed to get off the phone before Kyle figured this out also. ugh. stupid.
I proceeded to remove the bottom rack and scooped double handfuls of bubbles into the sink, (all the while Boston is finding every knife in the silverware bin) and wiping out the entire washer with towel upon towel. Only realizing after the fact, that I could have used the "drain" setting. again. stupid.
So, there you have it. I got it all cleaned up, but learned a valuable lesson. Let the dishwasher be a dishwasher, stop trying to reinvent the wheel, and use the all in one package!!
Loves. Jamie
haha...that is hilarious. scott tried to do that once, but i stopped him just in time. i didn't even know there was a drain setting, so that's good to know in case he ever thinks about doing it again. and i remember the ironing incident. you are too funny!
ReplyDeleteI know I just heard the story but it's just as funny to read it all over again! And I'm cracking up over the ironing!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious!!! What's funny is, I'm ashamed to admit I've done the same thing!! Not the ironing, just the bubbles!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! That visual is going to give me a perma-smile all day!
ReplyDeleteToo Funny !!! I did something similar with too much soap in a top loading washing machine. Suds all over the laundry mat in Vancouver while on my mission.
ReplyDeleteNo explanation for the ironing :)
Oh Jamie!!! That's why we love you so much!!! You always have a great story to tell that keeps us laughing for years to come!!! At least Boston had fun!!! Love you all!!! 831...
ReplyDeleteSounds JUST like me Jamie! Haha I love that Boston was the one to let you know lots of bubbles were coming! So funny! I love it.
ReplyDeleteOh Jamie!! I finally read about your adventure! I have to admit, I'm not surprised. These kind of stories are exactly why we love you! Don't you love how our kids put everything in perspective. I love Bossy!!
